Shooting photos and video on campus

News media are welcome to film or photograph exterior campus buildings and general campus scenes from public sidewalks and other open-access areas but should let the media relations office know anytime they are filming on campus.

Filming or photography inside classrooms, educational spaces, student residences, the library or any of the university’s identity and resource centers is not permitted without prior approval.

To request access to film or photograph in these areas, contact the media relations team in advance.

Drone photography and videography

News media interested in shooting drone photography/videography must receive prior approval. 

All drone operators are required to be licensed by the FAA and follow all regulations. To be considered for use on campus, the drone operator must provide a copy of the photographer’s drone license and insurance.

Permission to operate a drone on campus must be requested for each use.
