Men鈥檚 golf dominates Homecoming tournament with historic podium sweep

Ian Fritz

色虎视频鈥檚 men鈥檚 golf team made history at its home Visit Stockton Invitational Saturday, Oct. 11, sweeping the podium and outpacing 16 other Division I programs at The Reserve at Spanos Park.

Led by health and exercise science major Felix Bouchard 鈥28, who earned his first collegiate win, the Tigers claimed their first team title of the 2025鈥26 season and their first home victory since the 2010 Pacific Invitational at Brookside Country Club.

鈥淚 couldn鈥檛 be prouder of these guys,鈥 said Head Coach John Cook. 鈥淔elix getting his first college win was awesome. All of these guys battled hard all three days. To win at home in Stockton is surreal.鈥

Posting a field-best 10-under-par final round, Pacific cruised to the team title as all five Tigers finished inside the top 20 individually.

Bouchard, a native of Montreal, Quebec, led the 96-player field at 12-under par. Pre-dentistry major Deitrek Gill 鈥27 and applied economics major Ian Fritz 鈥26 followed in second and third at 11-under and 10-under, marking the first time in program history Pacific golfers swept the top three spots.

鈥淚t鈥檚 awesome,鈥 Bouchard said. 鈥淔or a long time, I thought it wasn鈥檛 possible, but it is. It鈥檚 a really good feeling to be an individual champion.鈥

Bouchard becomes the second straight Tiger to win the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational, following sports science major Travis Robbie 鈥26, who took the title last season at Stockton Golf & Country Club.

Each of the top three finishers recorded career-best results. For Gill, the runner-up finish tops his three previous top-five showings from last year.

鈥淚 think this is going to be a turning point for the guys,鈥 Gill said. 鈥淚鈥檓 really proud of Felix for his win. For us to take the top three spots is special.鈥

Competing in his final home event, Fritz capped his Pacific career with his best finish to date.

鈥淚t鈥檚 an unbelievable feeling to get the team win,鈥 Fritz said. 鈥淎 lot of us have been playing well recently, and it鈥檚 great to culminate it with a win and a top three finish in our home tournament.鈥

The victory marks Pacific鈥檚 third team title in the last two seasons, adding to wins at The Goat at Navy and the Leadership and Golf Collegiate Championship at Saint Mary鈥檚 during the 2024鈥25 campaign.

鈥淭hese guys are working really hard,鈥 Cook said. 鈥淲e have a goal to get back to the NCAA Regionals this year, and this is a great start.鈥

The Tigers look to defend their team tournament title from last year in Seaside, California as they get set to wrap up the fall portion of their 2025-26 schedule at the Saint Mary鈥檚 Invitational on Monday, Oct. 20. .
